For more and more people, the car is losing it’s sex appeal. Somewhere between ‘peak oil’ the ‘carbon footprint’ and ‘car-scrappage’ schemes, the shine has come off the apple.
The direction of mobility has changed in the last few years on a fundamental level. Large cities are establishing environmental zones, short-term bicycle rental schemes are being implemented, and even in the USA – the land of automobile freedom – driving does not have the liberty it once used to.
Checkdisout #6 Future Mobility brings together forward thinkers on mobility solutions in the “Kunstverein Hamburg” and asks for their vision of the future of mobility. How will we get from A to B in the future? How can more people consider having their own car? Will sharing become more important than ownership? Must we redefine our own understanding of what mobility is?
